TRIUM Polo Team October 2011

TRIUM Polo Success
The Inaugural TRIUM Polo Team Gets-off to a Great Start in Paris

TRIUM alumni Miguel de Almeida (2011) and Kathleen DeRose (2011) were able to organize two teams to compete in the 14th Challenge and “Tournoi” organized by the French Association Polo Grandes Ecoles, Ecoles & Universits on October 22 & 23, 2011. In all, 25 teams competed over the 2-day event held at the Polo Club de Chantilly.

The TRIUM teams were captained by Kathleen and Miguel, who played together, along with NYU Stern alumna Stacey Widlitz on day one’s 3-a-side Challenge. Out of ten teams, TRIUM were able to come in a very commendable 2nd place, especially considering this was their first outing! On the second day, the competitive level increased as did the number of teams and players and despite fielding two strong TRIUM teams, they were unable to match the previous day’s heroics.

TRIUM Polo Shirts

The TRIUM alumni drafted some alliance school help from NYU Stern alumna Stacey Widlitz along with guest members from Polo Park Zurich in Switzerland and the Polo Club de Chantilly.

All were proudly representing the TRIUM name in some very eye-catching polo shirts and some excellent play.

The TRIUM team is recruiting for the next competition, as the Association organises biannual tournaments in April and October in Paris.

TRIUM ranks Number 2 in Financial Times survey

TRIUM Global Executive MBA Program was ranked 2nd in the world (100 programs are listed) by the Financial Times annual ranking of Executive MBA programs.

Each year, the Financial Times survey evaluates Executive MBA programs offered by business schools from all over the world. The study assesses the career progress of alumni three years after program completion (the Class of 2008), the academic excellence of the faculty, as well as the program’s international scope.

For the fourth year running, TRIUM ranked #1 in the world for “Aims Achieved”, a criteria that measures the extent to which alumni fulfilled their most important goals or reasons for pursuing an EMBA. TRIUM also ranked #1 in “Work Experience”, which measures the previous experience of EMBA participants by examining seniority of positions held, number of years in each position, size of company, and any international work experience prior to starting the EMBA. The Program ranked #2 in “Salaries Today,” another measure of career progress and #2 for “International Course Experience”.

Jeremy Kroll (TRIUM 2008) is featured in today’s Financial Times article

Jeremy Kroll (TRIUM 2008) is featured in today’s Financial Times article “Risk and Reward” by Rebecca Knight.

Propped against the wall of Jeremy Kroll’s Lexington Avenue office in midtown Manhattan is a large portrait of Bernie Madoff, the disgraced financier, looking sullen and shifty in a black baseball cap and sunglasses. The picture, upon closer inspection, is a digital mosaic made up of tiny, rectangular company logos, each one representing a corporate scandal of the past decade: Enron, WorldCom, Tyco, and Rite Aid, among others. At the bottom a tongue-in-cheek admonishment reads: “Enjoy your day. It could have been a lot worse.”

The Trium Executive MBA class of 2012 have raised thousand of dollars from their classmates and and employers to invest in social enterprise initiatives around the world. Trium is one of the world’s top EMBAs – MBAs for working managers – and the degree is awarded by three business schools, the Stern school at New York University, HEC in Paris and the London School of Economics.

Excerpt from Forbes — “Ed Altman of NYU’s Stern School of Business, who proved prescient about junk bonds going into the crisis, says the current spread implies an annual default rate of around 6-7%, typical in a mild depression and well below the 11% default rate in the depths of the credit crisis in 2008-2009.”
